Company Overview
Simons Boilers was established in 1932 and has built a proud legacy as a leading Australian manufacturer of steam and hot water boilers. With operations in Sydney and Melbourne, the company has over 90 years of experience in thermal engineering, providing high-performance equipment and reliable service across Australia and beyond.
Originally supplying small steam boilers and irons to the garment industry, Simons Boilers steadily expanded its capabilities to include a wide range of products such as steam boilers, hot water heaters, steam humidifiers, air compressors, and garment pressing equipment.
In May 2025, Automatic Heating Global acquired Simons Boilers, bringing together two respected Australian family-owned businesses with a combined legacy of over 190 years in the heating industry. Simons Boilers now operates under the brand name Simons Boilers Group, as part of the Automatic Heating Global family. The acquisition retains key staff members and ensures uninterrupted sales, service, maintenance, and parts support through offices in Sydney and Melbourne. This integration strengthens our combined capabilities and reinforces our commitment to providing efficient, low-carbon equipment for Australia’s built environment.
Our solutions now support facilities across major cities and regional centres, as well as international markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand. From system design to installation, commissioning, and ongoing technical support, we deliver long-term, value-added solutions to our clients.
90 years of history
Artisan carpenter, Woolf Simons began the business making ice chests in the days before refrigeration, and with sons Asher, Percy, and Sol founded Simons Boiler Company in 1932.
1932
In the late 1930’s, Asher Simons, a mechanical engineer, invented a new way to press clothes using an electric iron with a small steam boiler. The invention of the Simons iron was an instant success and later became part of Australia’s War effort pressing military uniforms.
In the 1940’s, the World War II hit Australia, and Simons began producing gas-fired boilers and air compressors in response to the call of the war effort.
In the 1970’s, the discovery and exploitation of natural gas brought demand for gas boilers and coincided with third-generation engineer Robert Simons entering the business.
Since then, Simons’ have continuously been expanding their portfolio of allied steam and hot water products partnering with world wide manufacturers such as Vapac, Trevil, ICI Caldaie, Rapak and Edwards. By 1978, Simons was exporting to countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.
Simons enter the Gas Fired Steam Boiler market. Appointed as New South Wales and Victorian distributors for East Coast Steam based in Brisbane.
1998
Simons enter Commercial Hot Water Heater market. Appointed as sole distributors for ICI Caldaie, Europe's leading Hot Water Heater manufacturer.
Simons appointed distributor for Raypak Hot Water Heaters manufactured in Australia by Rheem.
Simons Green Energy established.
2009

Simons Boilers is a fourth generation Australian owned company proudly celebrating 80 years of innovation, success and expertise in the thermal engineering market.
Simons enter into a Joint Venture with Airatherm in Victoria, acting as sales and support agents for their range Commercial Hot Water Heaters, Tanks and Ancillaries.
2014
Simons sees a growth in the Brewery and Distillery Industry across Australia, supplying a number of boilers to a range of manufacturers in the industry.
2016
85 years
Simons celebrates 85 years in the boiler business.
2017
Simons Melbourne Office
moves to new premises to Bayswater.
10.000
Simons manufactures its 10,000th
Electric Steam Boiler on the 5th of November 2019.
Robert Simons celebrates
50 years in the business.

May 2025 — A New Chapter Begins!
Automatic Heating Global acquires Simons Boilers, uniting two long-standing Australian family businesses with over 190 years of combined experience. As part of this exciting new chapter, the Simons Boilers Sydney team relocates to new premises to support future growth and continued local manufacturing.
